Junior Counselor and Volunteer Program

Our Summer 2024 Junior Counselors & Volunteers

We are pleased that our Junior Counselor and Volunteer program will return this summer! We have opportunities available for students aged 13-18. For more information about each program and for information on how to apply, please read below!

Junior Counselors
(students aged 16 - 18)

Students aged 16-18 years old are invited to apply to work as Junior Counselors alongside our experienced staff to create a fun, enriching summer program for children aged 2-5. Junior Counselors must be 16 years of age before their first day at Morningside and have availability to work 8:30 - 3:30 on weekdays for all six weeks of our summer program (June 16 - July 25, with closures 6/19 and 7/4).

Junior Counselors will be paid $16.50/hr, NYC’s minimum wage. Paychecks are received bi-weekly, and counselors will be issued a W-2 for tax purposes at the end of the year.

Junior Volunteers
(students aged 13 - 18)

Students aged 13-18 are invited to apply for Junior Volunteer positions to meet a school community service requirement. Junior Volunteers are not required to commit to the full six-week program – we are happy to work with your individual schedules. Each Junior Volunteer will be provided a letter of reference documenting community service hours worked, and Junior Volunteers who work for the full summer program (June 16 - July 25, with closures 6/19 and 7/4) will be provided weekly unlimited MetroCards for transit.
